Selling real estate in winterJanuary and February can be great months to sell your home but winter weather can make it a struggle. Here are some quick seller tips for the season.

  1. If possible have a fire burning when people look at your house. Nothing says home sweet home like a crackling fire.
  2. Make sure your driveway and sidewalks are shoveled. If your home is vacant make sure you make sure you hire someone to do the shoveling.
  3. Turn your lights on for showings. The weather can be frightful so make your house delightful.
  4. Make arrangements for wet or snowy shoes and boots at the entrance to your property. Providing booties will keep looks from tromping mud all over your home.
  5. A real estate classic is to have something baking in the oven when people tour your home.
  6. Providing summer pictures of your property helps potential buyers visualize what your home will be like in summer.
  7. In the winter it is hard to be totally out of the way of buyers as they look at your home, so if possible be in your least desirable room when your buyers come through which will tend to direct them away from you and into your more desirable rooms.
