With the NFC Championship Game just around the corner…
In honor of Sunday’s showdown between the Bears and Packers, I have linked an article from the Sun-Times to this blog about why Chicago is far superior to our lonely neighbors to the north. One difference which was not mentioned was the superiority of architecture and housing in Chicago and Chicago’s North Shore communities. Remember to contact me with any questions regarding real estate in Chicago and the North Shore Chicago suburbs. And, of course… BEARS!!!

Andersonville, An Affordable North Side Neighborhood
I just drove home through the Edgewater neighborhood of Andersonville. Most North Side Chicago and North Shore residents are aware of Andersonville’s gain in popularity over the past decade and is a desirable location for both younger couples and singles to move to, as they migrate north of the social centers of Chicago.
This small section of Edgewater is generally recognized as being located between Winthrop and Ravenswood from the east and west, respectively, and Foster and Bryn Mawr from the south and north, respectively. Andersonville features not only a diverse population, but also a diverse housing base. Buyers are drawn to both the possibility of single family home ownership and new and vintage condo ownership at prices that are not as expensive as Lakeview and Lincoln Park.
Andersonville Listings are constantly updated on this site under Community Info above.
As a side note, if you love coffee, Metropolis Coffee, on Granville in Edgewater has the best tasting coffee on the north side of Chicago.

1231 Hinman Evanston in Lakeshore Historic District
If you know someone who is looking to move into one of the most family friendly neighborhoods in the North Shore and conveniently located areas in Evanston, I have recently listed a 3+ bedroom/ 1.5 bathroom Victorian in the Lakeshore Historic District for $755,000.
Walk to Starbucks, Whole Foods, the “EL”, Lake Michigan, downtown Evanston and Northwestern University. It is located in Dewey Elementary School district and half a block away from Chiaravalle Montessori.
This is the perfect solution for a homebuyer who does not have a million dollar budget, but wants to live in a wonderful house on a million dollar block.
